I'm officially loosing my mind!

Posted on 2007.06.29 at 17:51
This summer I decided to take on a school assigned "job" type thing to keep me busy as I am not travelling like the majority of my class. Unfortunately my job has turned out to be me sitting at home pretending to work until some ethics approval comes through (which it has by the way and I'm still not doing anything). So I think as a consequence my brain has decided to check out, or liquify and is sitting useless in the bottom of my skull.
my evidence )

Perhaps I need some brain tonic or some such thing.

Copy your month (look under the cut), strike out anything that you feel doesn't apply to you, and bold anything that super-duper applies to you, add comments if you feel like it. Then post and put all the months under a cut for others to use.

AUGUST: Loves to joke. Attractive. Suave (I'd love to think so) and caring. Brave and fearless. Firm and has leadership qualities. Knows how to console others. Too generous and egoistic. Takes high pride in oneself. Thirsty for praises. Extraordinary spirit. Easily angered. Angry when provoked. Easily jealous. Observant. Careful and cautious. Thinks quickly. Independent thoughts. Loves to lead and to be led. Loves to dream. Talented in the arts, music and defense. Sensitive but not petty. Poor resistance against illnesses. Learns to relax. Hasty and trusty. Romantic. Loving and caring. Loves to make friends.

from [info]imperfectmedium:

The first five people to respond to this post, will get some form of art, by me, about them. I make no guarantees about quality or type, but I will assure that I will give it good effort.

There's a catch, of course: as with most memes, if you sign up, you have to put this in your own journal as well.

hair

I never have time to post anymore...

Here is my dilemma from yesterday:

As I am preparing to leave school for home at the end of a long day I stop and talk to classmates. Yesterday I noticed that one of said classmates is wearing her pants so low that ummm...her hair is sticking out the top about a centimetre in fact.

My first instinct was to be like "pull up your pants!!!!" as subtlely as possible. Then I thought, this girl is probably 4 years younger than me and into trends. What if this is suddenly in style? *shudder*

What would you do?

3 more days

Posted on 2006.08.29 at 18:40
Current Mood: tired
I've determined that the whole two/three years with minimal school thing may actually get in the way of my successful completion of medicine. I am not used to school anymore. I am so tired right now I feel like going directly to bed when I get home. No supper, no tv, just bed. We are going to be friends (my bed and I). All day classes in the same classroom. It wasn't even hard, just review for now. What happens when it gets hard?

Hoorah weekend! I'm going to shop and shop and shop and forget about all the shit that I have to do! Only 3 more days.

packing

Posted on 2006.07.26 at 09:41
Current Location: work
I spent most of last night packing more of my stuff. At this rate I may be ready to move next year. I've discovered or rather rediscovered that I am the world's worst pack rat. I keep finding things that I haven't used in YEARS and thinking "what if I will need it later?" I think I need help. I have 5 full bags ready for diabetes, I think I could still get rid of more. I have tonnes of stuff where I don't use it yet I don't want to get rid of it exactly.

example:
3-4 year old black leather jacket styled from the 80s, complete with shoulder pads. I never wear it because I look like my grandma, but she bought it for me for $300 or more. It looks better on Trouble than me.

What does one do with 5 perfectly good change purses? I found them all full of change, never used with one exception. I hate being that woman at the front of the grocery line searching for exact change.

I also have a linen closet full of bath salts/beads/bombs, shower gel and bubble bath. Does it ever go bad? I occasionally like to treat myself to a bubble or smelly bath, but I have enough here to have a relaxing bath of the sort every day for 6 months.

moving sucks! I'm not sure I'll survive.

Dr. Me

Posted on 2006.07.14 at 17:08
I handed over some cash to med school today...I'm officially going to be a doctor.

I hope that I can do it.
I hope that I don't go insane with work.
I hope I'm not in the wb's group.

Only a month left of work.

You Are Iceman

You tried to live a normal life, but it just wasn't possible
A bit of a slacker, you rather tell jokes than cultivate your powers

Powers: turning self and others into ice, making ice weapons, becoming nearly invisible

am i really a slacker?

I am a colon!
Find your own pose!

I'm not sure how I feel about this...Apparently I am quite antisocial and have the sleeping characteristics of intestines. Not exactly how I'd describe myself. Plus when I sleep I am all stretched out and these people are all fetal positiony.

Just for interest I looked up the free press article on the bike protest incident posted by [info]girlintheclouds
Read more... )

This incident scares me because when I was riding my bike home from work yesterday I got asked by a random biker to come to the next one of these events. Now I ride my bike to work every sunny day. I like it with the exception of the fact that the bike routes are shit in this city. At the same time if I go protest this I stand to get arrested and have a criminal record. Lovely. Isn't our police force here to protect us and our rights?

HOT!!!!

Posted on 2006.05.24 at 21:52
Current Mood: hot
So I followed the lead of [info]prairieheath and got myself an air conditioner this past weekend. Good move I thought because then when the opressive heat of summer arrives I will be prepared.

So after an hour spent with a useless teenage canadian tire employee (and finally coming back to the store 3 hours later) we finally managed to buy an air conditioner (on sale)...but after getting home why put it in my window now, I thought? It won't be needed for awhile yet....WRONG...I need it NOW!!!!!

I just salsa danced for an hour and a half in a sweltering hot room to come home to an equally sweltering hot room with a packaged up air conditioner on the floor....boo, I wish I had more foresight!

Greek food 1: Cheeky 0

Posted on 2006.05.18 at 18:12
Current Mood: full of greek food
In the time since I've moved to my current residence there has been a war of wills between my brain and my belly at supper time. The dangerous thing is that there is a greek restaurant 3 blocks from my house. They make fast and tasty food and I love it. Unfortunately if I eat this food all the time I will enlarge to the size of a house.

Today I got home and the smell called me again...there was no food in my fridge that could compare. I had a gyro for dinner tonight: delicious fried salty meatiness with tomatoes and onions covered in creamy tzatziki sauce, all wrapped up in spiced warmed pita goodness.

I am full...mmmmmm

It is now official...I have my first sunburn of the season.

That's right ladies and gents it is the middle of April and I already burnt myself, lovely.

On a happy note the burning is a result of a lovely afternoon spent in the park. It was not too hot and not too cool, sunny with a little wind. I ate ice cream and wore sandles. I have been warned cheeky + sunny days= burns...even in spring. Otherwise spring is good, it makes me happy :o)

Dear Car Burgalers, thieves and hoodlums:

Stop stealing my knapsacks!!! I am tired of replacing my stuff!!! Save yourself the effort and look inside before you steal my school bag. There is nothing in there for you. Leave my car alone!

Thanks,

cheeky

PRESALES SUCK!!!

Ticketmaster should die a horrible painful death!!! Why is it whenever I want to go to a concert lately all the tickets are sold instantly through presale? YOU SUCK TICKETMASTER!!!! How is it that everyone seems to have a hookup but me?? I tryed to get tickets to the strokes today and I might add that I was armed and ready at 9:50am with my credit card and high speed internet in hand and I still could not get tickets! Boooo presale!

In other more positive news: my trust in ebay is now restored, the seller that didn't send me my needlemaster set has offered to send me a new one, and I ordered 9 sets double pointed bamboo needles from someone else (9 sets for $20) and they just came yesterday, now I am in bamboo heaven...hopefully my needlemaster set will arrive soon.
